The New Year Promise

Jan 02, 2023

As the new year approached and most people would make their resolutions, and the majority would break them in the first month, a few years ago, I decided that no longer worked for me.

I do a few things instead and remind myself to be flexible throughout the year to change when needed.

  • Choose to live the rest of my life with intention and purpose.

I am being mindful when making decisions. Does this align with my goals? Will this choice get me closer to my goal?

  • Focus on a WORD for the year.

Find some quiet time and ask yourself what word will help you achieve your goals and desires. I recommend posting the Word on the wall in your office or home; it will instantly help you reset and refocus.

  • Make goals and then have a plan to implement them.

The plan is essential to achieving your goals. Please write it down.

I find quiet time and reflect on the previous year to see what worked and didn’t. Where can I improve personally and professionally? And most of all, what made me happy and unhappy? I do this lovingly as it matters immensely to my adult self and inner child. This is the process of reparenting—another topic for the future.

Happiest of New Year’s and may bring us all prosperity and peace.
